Cedar Breaks Academy is a fully licensed Residential Treatment Center for Teenage Girls between the ages of 12 and 17 that are experiencing emotional or behavior problems within their homes, schools, or society.  Cedar Breaks Academy maintains a highly trained staff of licensed professionals to meet the educational and therapeutic needs of each resident.

Cedar Breaks Academy has developed an effective program that emphasizes a Pro-active approach to treatment for the resident.  The resident learns to use cognitive reasoning to deal with daily problems that confront there in home, school and among peer groups.  Cedar Breaks Academy teaches the resident to make correct decisions that yield desired results.  The primary aim of the program is to equip the resident to be successful after she leaves the program.  In addition, each resident is required to keep up with her academics and is provided the highest quality instruction and teachers.

We also believe that in order to do this, the distractions of their everyday environment must be removed completely and re-introduced slowly as the child's treatment progresses. The worst distraction, and often a big part of the problem, is the opposite sex.  To that end Cedar Breaks Academy is specifically designed for, and will only accept, girls between the ages of 12 and 17.  We firmly believe that a co-educational environment is counterproductive to a female

teenager's emotional healing.

We at Cedar Breaks Academy are striving to create an environment where practically every aspect of life at the Facility will offer opportunities for therapeutic healing.  It is our hope that the actual time spent in the therapist's office will almost be a secondary part of the healing process.

We believe that there is more to a troubled teen than inappropriate behavior.  Therefore more is needed than behavior management (boot camps, work programs) to truly help these youth.  We believe that in most of these teens there is something deep inside, eating away at their confidence and self image, something that must be dealt with and put to rest for the child to be able to effect a permanent, positive change in attitude and behavior.
